Among its fleet management services that it uses are Drivewyze by Fleetworthy for weigh station bypass and proactive in-cab driver safety alerts and Bestpass by Fleetworthy for toll management services.
Through Drivewyze’s PreClear weigh station bypass service, Cargo Transporters drivers can bypass many weigh station locations across the country. Drivewyze is the largest provider of this service, with more than 900 fixed and mobile weigh station sites in 48 states and provinces in its network. Through Safety+, which is a premium subscription-based extension of Drivewyze Free, the company can alert drivers of low bridges, high truck rollover corners, severe weather, high violation areas for speeding, high-risk areas for cargo theft, and more. With Safety+, Cargo Transporters can also access back-office tools to create their own customized driver alerts.
With more than 500 trucks running across the U.S. and the East Coast, Cargo Transporters can assign the correct toll transponders to its trucks based on where they operate. Most of its transponders are the Complete Pass, which covers all major toll sites nationwide, and Bestpass’ E-Z Pass, which is used in trucks that operate regionally along the East Coast.
Results
- Based on a recent analysis, Drivewyze’s PreClear weigh station bypass service has been shown to save Cargo an estimated $88k per month which is an ROI of more than 10x. After implementing Safety+, Drivewyze’s in-cab safety alert service, Cargo Transporters proactively supports safe driving practices across its fleet and reduces accident risk. In 2023, the company saw a significant reduction in bridge strikes compared to the year before.
- With toll management from Bestpass, all of Cargo Transporter’s toll bills and data are consolidated into one account, making it easier for the fleet to manage tolls received and to identify toll spend. All of Cargo’s truck plates are on file which allows Bestpass to work directly with toll authorities to rectify any issues involving a toll violation, misread, or double toll charge. It’s estimated that Bestpass saved Cargo Transporters 25 hours in violation processing last year.
